(Full points table after May 13 matches is shown below)

Mumbai Indians has 20 points after winning 10 matches, the same as Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, but climbed to the top of the table with its superior net run rate.

Eight sixes from Pollard drove Mumbai Indians to a seven-wicket victory with three balls remaining in their Pepsi-IPL-VI match on Monday. Pollard made the second fastest half-century of the season (50 off 20 balls behind Chris Gayle’s 50 off 17).

Electing to bat, Hyderabad player Parthiv Patel, a diminutive left-hander, hit 26 off 14 balls. Shikhar Dhawan (59) and Hanuma Vihari (41) carried on the good work and added 73 runs for the second wicket. Cameron White (43 not out) too played a cameo as Sunrisers posted a fighting total of 178/3.

Sachin Tendulkar retired hurt on 38 and with Dinesh Karthik scoring 30 added 68 runs for the second wicket but were never able to score too quickly.

When Tendulkar walked off the field hurt, Mumbai still needed 84 off 48 balls. Karthik also got out in the same over and two new players came to the crease. Needing 62 off the last four overs, the game changed as Perera was plundered for 29 runs in the 17th over with Pollard hitting three consecutive sixes and Rohit Sharma (20 not out) adding another one.

Pollard, then made another three sixes in the very next over for Sunrisers smashing bowlong of spinner Amit Mishra. Pollard finished the match when there was three ball remaining to give Mumbai their seventh consecutive win at home.
