Mumbai, May 6 (TruthDive): The box office collections of John Abraham starrer Shootout at Wadala in its opening weekend is splendid, touching Rs 30 crore in the first three days of its release, says trade expert and film critic Taran Adarsh.
John Abraham plays gangster Manya Surve in the Sanjay Gupta-directed Shootout at Wadala, which also features Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Manoj Bajpayee, Kangna Ranaut and Mahesh Manjrekar. The movie has received positive reviews and appreciation from critics and audiences.
Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#ShootoutAtWadala collected approx. Rs 30.7 cr nett in its opening weekend. Fri 10.10 cr, Sat 9.75 cr, Sun 10.85 cr.”
Shootout at Wadala has done a very good business over the weekend. The movie was released on May 3rd and on the opening day it made a splendid collection of 10.1 crore. With the decent collection on Saturday and Sunday, the movie has shown wonderful figures in the weekend chart.
On Saturday, the collection decreased a little from its opening day collections. It boxed in only 9.75 crore, but again the film witnessed a decent jump on Sunday which has given a wonderful collection figure. The Sunday collection is 10.85 crores nett which was a very good business by the film after a drop on Saturday.
The opening weekend total collection is 30.7 crores nett. Another important feature to be noted is that the movie has notched the third best opening weekend collections for 2013 so far.
The top opening weekend grosser of this year 2013 is the multi-starrer Race 2 (Rs 48.25 crore), followed by Himmatwala (Rs 26.50 crore). Shootout at Wadala takes the third place, while Akshay Kumar-starrer Special 26 (Rs 23.50 crore) came in at the fourth spot while Vishal Bhardwaj-directed Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (Rs 21.25 crore) took the fifth position.
SAW is made on a budget of 26 crores; the film has already recovered its investment and is now looking to reap higher profits.
