IAS officer turned filmmaker Gnana Rajasekaran’s ‘Ramanujan’ to go on floors

Chennai, Apr 29 (): Gnana Rajasekaran, IAS officer turned film maker is set to direct the upcoming Tamil- English bilingual ‘Ramanujan’ based on the life of world-renowned Math genius Srinavasa Ramanujan.

Gnanan Rajasekaran has award-winning films in his kitty like his debut film Mogamul (1995), Bharathi (2000) and Periyar (2007). He also has some short films to his credit as his directorial ventures.

Abhay, the grandson of yesteryear actors Gemini Ganesan and Savithri, is set to don  the role of Math genius Srinivasa Ramanujan, which is as well his debut film. Southern actress Bhama, popular in Kannada and Malayalam film industries will play the female lead of the film.

Suhasini Maniratnam will play the mother of  Ramanujan.

Shooting for the film, Ramanujan will roll this May in Kumbakonam and will also be shot in Namakkal,Chennai,Nellore, London and Cambridge where Ramanujan had lived.

Music is by Ramesh Vinayagam, lyrics will be penned by Vaali and editing is by Lenin.

The cast also includes well-known actors like Sarath Babu,Abbas, Radha Ravi,YG Mahendran,Delhi Ganesh,Thalaivasal Vijay,Vennira Adai Murthy,Madan Pop, ARS and Delhi Kumar and also English actors who will play key roles of characters who significantly influenced Ramanujan’s life and international fame.
