Mumbai Indians have defeated the IPL table toppers Royal Challengers Bangalore by 58 runs to get a move on from the sixth position in the tournament to the fourth position.

After setting the target of 195, MI restricted RCB to 136 for seven in 20 overs in front of a heavy packed crowd at the Wankhede Stadium.

With Mumbai Indians opting to bat, Smith slashed his way to a quick fire 36-ball 50. Karthik scored 43 off 33 balls while Pollard smashed 34 off just 16 deliveries to propel the hosts.

Bangalore could not get a good start that they were so used to do. Mumbai Indian bowler, Dhaval Kulkarni, who played his 1st match smashed  the Bangalore batting line-up dismissing Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the same over. The bowlers of MI, Harbajan and Smith took two wickets each, while Kulkarni took three wickets.
