Chennai, Apr 7 (): Kamal Hassan, the versatile actor-director will sport a bearded look in Vishwaroopam 2 , the sequel to his mega spy-thriller Vishwaroopam.
Kamal Hassan was seen in the same bearded look recently when he took part in the hunger strike organized by the Nadigar Sangam in support of Sri Lankan Tamils.
Produced by Aascar Ravichandran,Vishwaroopam 2 will have Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan in three looks. Ascar Ravichandran-Kamal Hassan combo is said to have worked magic in several of their films in the past.
Vishwaroopam 2, the sequel to national award-winning Vishwaroopam will be released in 3D sound format, also termed as Auro 3D.
40% of Vishwaroopam 2 was said to have been wrapped up even before the release of Vishwaroopam. Shooting for Vishwaroopam 2 will again resume in May, said sources.
Meanwhile, Kamal Hassan has also got another film ready for him –Bitter Chocolate, the shoot of which he plans to start only after the release of Vishwaroopam 2. Kamal Hassan’s daughter Shruti Hassan had to decline an offer to act in her dad’s film due to her packed shooting schedule.
Vishwaroopam 2 is said to hit 3000 screens worldwide. Sources say Vishwaroopam 2 is all set for theatrical release on August 15, but news is not yet confirmed. However, VTV Ganesh, one of the executive producers of Vishwaroopam 2 had tweeted, “Vishwaroopam part 2 goin to release on august 15th. This time planned to release more than 3k theatres worldwide. Movie made on budget 50 CR.”
The story of Vishwaroopam 2 is set in India featuring the same cast as that of Vishwaroopam but with enhanced focus on mother-son sentiments.
Vishwaroopam,the spy-thriller released in January bagged two awards at the 60th National Film Awards for the best production design (Boontawee ‘Thor’ Taweepasas and Lalgudi Ilayaraja) and for best choreography (Briju Maharaj).
Released amidst huge controversies and bans, Vishwaroopam has successfully crossed 50 days and its collection is said to be Rs 200+ crores worldwide, according to media reports.
Vishwaroopam 2 has high expectations among Kamal Hassan’s fans, just like the prequel.
