Chennai, Apr 1 (): Kamal Hassan’s dream project “Vishwaroopam” faced many controversies before its release on screens on February 8 and now the movie has crossed 50 days at the box office successfully. The film received great response from the movie lovers and has done much better than expected.
In an interaction with the media few days back, Kamal Haasan said that he is stunned by the success of the film and that the film has done well more than he expected. The movie is still a favourite among the multiplex audiences and is doing good business on weekends.
Even though the film’s release was postponed several times, Vishwaroopam was able to collect more than 100 crores at the box-office and has again proved the staying power of Kamal Hassan.
Meanwhile, the actor revealed that the work on the sequel of the film is also going on and added that the sequel film is in its pre-production stage.
Kamal said that 40 percent shooting for Vishwaroopam 2 had been completed along with the shooting of Vishwaroopam. So, only remaining part have to be made and the release of the movie would be expected very soon.
Although the official release date of the film has not yet been announced,the movie is likely to get released by the end of this year. Kamal himself said that he would ensure there is no delay in the release of “Vishwaroopam 2″.
In an interview, Kamal had announced that the sequel would have a higher emotional quotient with the inclusion of a mother-son angle. In Vishwaroopam, the ladies were seen only in the first half-hour. And ladies will not be seen and the movie becomes much of a out and out boys’ stuff and man centric. But, Kamal assured the sequel will have a mother-son angle in the story.
“Vishwaroopam 2″ is set in India and the film’s original cast including Pooja Kumar, Andrea and Rahul Bose will be retained in the sequel.
