Mumbai, Mar 26 (): Priyamani’s item song with Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan for the upcoming film “Chennai Express” will be shot again.
The item song for Chennai Express was shot in February. Reports say the song might violate the latest guidelines by the Censor Board on item numbers. Hence, the team has decided to re-shoot the item number.
The latest suggested changes to the censorship laws with reference to item numbers have already started disturbing the content in movies. So, Shahrukh Khan who has performed an item number with Tamil actress Priyamani in his next film Chennai Express, has been issued a notice to maintain a certain level of dignity in the track.
Shahrukh Khan is not in a mood to fight with the censor board, so he has decided not to include any raunchy scenes in the item song of his upcoming film, “Chennai Express”.
The track will be choreographed by Prabhu Deva’s brother Raju Sundaram. Initially, the track was planned to be choreographed by Prabhu Deva himself, Khan’s instruction to maintain the tracks’ soberness with non-risky movements has prompted Deva to rope in his brother.
Shahrukh Khan has one and only instruction for the choreographer Raju Sunderam. It was to make the song in a funny way and but not in a raunchy manner.
Sources say Shahrukh has a family image. Now all eyes of the moral police are focused on item songs and so the actor has decided not to go anywhere close to raunchy.
The item song for Chennai Express is Sunderam’s second outing as a choreographer in a Bollywood film, the first being with Shahid Kapoor’s in Kaminey.
The item song was originally planned with South actress Nayanthara, but the plan was eventually dropped and the opportunity fell on Priyamani’s shoulders. The item song ’1, 2, 3, 4… Dabbankoothu hardcore…’, which has lot of South Indian dance moves, is composed by musical duo Vishal-Shekhar.
