Chennai, Mar 22 (TruthDive): The USA theatrical rights and the Telugu rights of the most-anticipated Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan, directed by the actor’s daughter Soundarya R Ashwin have been sold out, say reports.
Kochadaiyaan is expected to hit the silver screens in July. The USA theatrical rights have been sold to Atmus Entertainment and Hyderabad-based Lakshmy Ganpathy Films has purchased the Telugu rights of the film titled Vikrama Simha for a high price.
Atmus Entertainment is a leading distributor of Tamil movies in the US market. The news was confirmed when the company posted a message on Twitter saying: “Entertainment is proud to announce we have acquired the USA theatrical rights of Superstar’s #Kochadaiyaan and #Vikramasimha.” ATMUS is planning to release the movie in over 100 locations in USA.
The film has been jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment. The shooting for the film was all wrapped up by the end of February 2013 and the post-production works are currently going on at London, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. Soundarya is currently in Hong Kong to look after the post-production works.
The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman. Sony Music will be launching the audio of the film sometime in May.
The makers of the movie have planned to release Kochadaiyaan in the month of July. The movie will be released in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Japanese and English.
The story is about the famous Pandya king Kochadaiyaan Ranadheeran. Rajinikanth is said to be playing the double role of a father and son. The movie features Jackie Shroff, Nassar, Aadhi and Sarath Kumar in pivotal roles and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone does the female lead role opposite Rajinikanth.
“Kochadaiyaan” is the first film in India to use motion capturing technique in 3D, the technique which was previously used in Hollywood movies such as “Avatar” and “The Adventure of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.”
