The press release for Kalyana Samayal Saadham (KSS) on the coverage of their crew and cast by the popular American channel ABC is as follows:
On March 4th 2013, the shooting spot of “Kalyana Samayal Saadham” (KSS) produced by Ananth Govindan and Arun Vaidyanathan was buzzing with international press coverage. The movie was being covered as part of an EMMY-Award nominated American TV Series “Born to Explore” to be aired on America’s No.1 TV channel ABC soon. It is also aired on National Geographic world over.
Born to Explore with Richard Wiese (BTE) is an internationally acclaimed TV series which takes its viewers around the world to join in a travel adventure. The show airs weekly on ABC-TV, reaches an average 1.4 million viewers and was nominated for a 2012 EMMY award.
Being a movie about a big fat Indian wedding, the Production team felt it was a perfect example of an Indian movie that told an Indian story but that would appeal to an international audience. The host Richard Wiese interviewed Director R S Prasanna extensively, while the team also covered the shooting of the film ‘behind the scenes’. The “BTE” team was impressed with the footage of the movie shown exclusively to them and they have extended an invitation to cover the movie as part of an other very popular American Breakfast show too in the coming months, coinciding with the release of KSS.
The director added, “a film like KSS which deals with the universal topic of weddings may strike a chord with global audiences too – for whom Indian weddings are one big celebration of color, dance, song and spirituality. Of course to this, the movie KSS adds some unexpected spice.”
The “Born to Explore” team had a great time shooting and the show will go on air sometime in April 2013. They wished the movie all the success and said they looked forward to the American release of the movie soon!
