London, Mar 3 (ANI): Golf ace Tiger Woods has said that current World No. 1 Rory McIlroy should think before he speaks following the row over his abrupt exit from the Honda Classic tournament, claiming a sore wisdom tooth.
Woods, who is no stranger to controversies, said that McIlroy should not have spoken the truth to journalists about not being in a good place mentally, and instead should have gone ahead with his claim of a physical problem as he did in his public statement, the Telegraph reports.
Stating that McIlroy has given mixed signals to the public, following his two differing stories, Woods said that the World No. 1 is too honest for his own good and should have thought more before speaking to the media.
Meanwhile, Woods, who has wrested Masters favouritism from McIlroy, hauled himself on the fringes of contention in blustery conditions, with three birdies on the front nine.
But Woods lost his ball in the hazard on the par-three 17th and that double bogey meant he had to settle for his third successive level-par 70, the report added. (ANI)
