New Delhi, Feb 27 (TruthDive): Failing to resolve the ongoing crisis, Rajya Sabha agreed to the declaration of President’s rule in Jharkhand in spite of the BJP making a demand to dissolve the assembly and hold fresh elections.
Talking on the issue, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the centre was left with no other option except to declare President’s rule in the state after its failure to resolve the state crisis.
Following the resignation of former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Arjun Munda after the JMM refused to support the BJP government, the Centre was forced to set the state under President’s rule keeping the assembly under suspended position. For the third time Jharkhand was brought under presidents rule on January 18 in twelve years, after the withdrawal of support by the JMM.
Disapproving the statement of reporters whether the centre had played an important role in destabilizing the state government, home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde asked if anyone ever heard that the central government went to the JMM and ask them to withdraw support to the BJP government.
Exposing the capability of the UPA government which is running a coalition government, Shinde said that to run a coalition government one needs will power which the BJP lacks.
Meanwhile accusing the Congress and RJD for creating confusion in the state, BJP member Jaiprakash Narayan Singh said that the Centre should immediately make possible arrangement in accepting the recommendation made by Arjun Munda government to dissolve the assembly and hold elections once more.
Holding the Congress responsible for the Rs 6,000 crore `loot’ in the state, the BJP leader accused the centre for backing former chief minister Madhu Koda.
Adding that Presidents’ Rule had been imposed in Jharkhand in the past within a period of three months, Sushil Kumar Shinde said that if the BJP stakes claim, it can once again try to form the government in Jharkhand.
