Chennai, Feb 18 (TruthDive): Prakash Raj will be replacing Surya as the host for the next season of Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, the Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepathi.
The second season of NVOK is all set to hit the screens with a new anchor, Prakash Raj on Vijay TV in March, on the weekday primetime slot, Monday through Thursday, 8 pm to 9.30 pm.
The first edition of NVOK that started on 27 February 2012 was hosted by actor Suriya Sivakumar until 12 July 2012. Versatile Actor Prakash Raj is now hosting the show’s second season, after Suriya had declined a new offer, due to his commitments. This show also marks Prakash Raj’s debut on television.
Being in the industry for nearly 15 years, he is quite known for his negative role as well as character-based roles and has good connect with the audiences.
In an interview about this new avatar of his career, Prakash Raj said that hosting this show is going to be an emotional journey for him and he is excited about meeting his fans and playing with them.
Auditions for NVOK were held at Chennai, Tiruchirappalli and Coimbatore. The contestants who correctly answered the simple questions in preliminary tests were selected to participate in the initial episodes of the show. The viewers too have many contests. Questions will be asked during the show and the viewers can win prizes by answering them.
The channel did not give out the financial details of the show, but sources say that revenues of over Rs 50 crore are expected from the new season and the channel plans to spend close to 10 per cent of this amount to market the show.
The marketing activity for the second season of NVOK is now in a full swing all over Tamil Nadu. The ‘4321’ campaign (‘4 3 2 1′ which refers to 4 options, 3 lifelines, 2 you and me, 1 crore) is now advertised in TV, radio, print and outdoor extensively.
