New Delhi, Feb 15 (TruthDive): A charge-sheet was filed by the Delhi police on Thursday, in the Juvenile Justice Board against the sixth accused juvenile in the Delhi-gang rape case, in which a case of robbery was also included against the juvenile before his alleged participation in the gang-rape of a 23-year-old paramedical student.
The minor in the case was accused of robbing a vegetable vendor Ramadhar Singh who boarded the bus a short while before the girl and male friend got into the bus on the fateful day.
The juvenile was mentioned in the police charge sheet to have pretended as a conductor when the girl and her male friend were waiting to board the bus in the bus stand.
Police in its investigation report had sought initiation of proceedings against the sixth accused charging him of voluntarily causing hurt in robbery, wrongful confinement and common intention under Juvenile Justice Act.
The JJB Board headed by Principal Magistrate Geetanjali Goel after taking cognizance of the gang rape report has directed the police for framing of notice in the case on February 28. The Delhi gang rape case is being heard in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, against the five accused on a daily basis.
The juvenile has been mentioned in the police charge sheet to be the most brutal among other accused in the case. The father of the gang-rape victim has made a particular obligation on the issue meeting Congress President Sonia Gandhi last month. He has also demanded the government to reduce the age of a juvenile from 18 to 16, so that the sixth accused gets the capital punishment and is not set free in the case.
The incident which shocked as well as shook the nation created a huge hue and cry by the entire nation demanding maximum punishment for all the accused in the case.
