Mumbai, Feb 5 (TruthDive): Abhishek Bachchan, son of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan turns 37 today. Abhishek, nicknamed ‘Junior B’ or ‘AB baby’, was born on February 5, 1976.
Abhishek, as his father, ventured into the film industry with J.P Dutta’s ‘Refugee’ with Kareena Kapoor. The film won the actor Filmfare Award for best male debut.
The actor has done many hit movies. Abishek has few films, which did not give him success; ‘Dhoom’, ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Bluffmaster’, ‘Guru’, Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Sarkar’, ‘Bol Bachchan’ are some of his hits and today Abhishek is an established Bollywood actor.
Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Yuva’, released in 2004, was his breakthrough film, which fetched him praise from critics. Filmfare Awards 2004 honoured him with the best supporting actor award for his performance in ‘Yuva’.
Abhishek and Aishwarya fell in love in the sets of Dhoom and they got engaged on 14tth January, 2007. Their marriage was on 20th April 2007, which was a grand affair for the media and it was highly covered. The couple was blessed with a baby girl Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011.
Today, Abhishek Bachchan’s birthday will be a low-key affair. The actor always likes a working birthday and he is shooting for his adventure flick ‘Dhoom 3’.
Abhishek revealed his birthday plans in an Indian news channel saying that “I like to work on my B’day. So I will be shooting”.
Abhishek has also another reason for not celebrating his birthday today, as few days back his closest friend Sikander (Kirron Kher’s son) lost his biological dad Gautam Berry. Abhishek stood by Sikander for all last rites, after cancelling a day’s shoot.
Amitabh Bachchan has also tweeted as “A quiet bringing in of Abhishek’s birthday at midnight, in respect … the passing away of dear friend!!” It is clearly understood from his words that the celebrations throughout the day will be a low-key affair.
