Hyderabad, Jan 28 (TruthDive):Accusing the central government for violating the January 28 deadline, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today decided to take a huge protest across Andhra Pradesh and threatened to launch an agitation against the Congress Ministers, MPs and state legislators considering them to be ‘betrayers’.
The centre which promised earlier to resolve the ongoing crisis of the Telangana Statehood on January 28, has backtracked its promise by postponing the decision to grant statehood to Telangana, said TRS leader K Tarakarama Rao who demanded the resignation of all the Congress ministers.
While launching a two-day protest, the BJP, CPI and the Telangana leaders of TDP who joined the strike expressed displeasure over Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde , who said earlier on December 28 that the government will take a decision on granting statehood to Telangana within a month and now is saying that the government needs some more time to decide.
Considering the centre’s approach of deferring its decision on Telangana, BJP leader Prakash Javadekar condemned the attitude of the ruling government playing with the sentiments of the people and warned the government not to take its patience for granted.
The Congress has failed to respect the determination of the people of Telangana who are protesting in a sensible and peaceful manner, added Javedkar. The BJP leader while responding to Home Minister Shinde and Congress General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the centre has to hold discussions and decide fast on the Telangana issue.
Accusing the government for delaying the process, Javedkar said that except the Congress, all other parties are backing the issue and criticized the Congress for having two faces on the issue. The BJP will not only raise the issue in the Parliament but will also obtain separate Telangana at any cost, added Javedkar who expressed disappointment over the decision on the statehood being put off frequently.
