Chennai, Jan 28 (TruthDive): Maryland state in USA has offered a special invite to Superstar Rajinikanth to visit their state as a special state guest.
Maryland Deputy Secretary of State for Policy & External Affairs, Dr Rajan Natarajan put forward this invitation today to Rajinikanth in his residence here.
Dr Rajan Natarajan read out the citation sent by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley to Rajinikanth for his birthday falling on a unique day, 12.12.2012, which the Superstar acknowledged happily.
Governor Martin in his citation said: “We are happy to know Superstar Rajinikanth is successful as a star in the film industry for very many years. You have achieved fame in this industry through a number of achievements. We wish you all the very best for good health,prosperity and happiness with the support of millions of fans spread out across the world.”
Rajinikanth accepted Mr Rajan’s invite to Maryland and assured him of his visit to Maryland. Dr Rajan said, ”It is a common saying in America that one’s quality life starts after 40 year.That way, you are a 22-year-old young man even at 62 years,” to which Rajinikanth had a hearty laugh.
Dr Rajan also detailed about the various opportunities in store for Indians in United States of America. Rajinikanth enquired about Indian Americans with great earnest. Superstar expressed his happiness and surprise on knowing that Dr Rajan Natarajan is the first Indian American to be appointed to a sub-cabinet level position in the state administration in Maryland history.
Dr Rajan further said that Rajinikanth’s films are appreciated by people of America and the World on par with Bollywood and Hollywood movies. He further said that in addition to Indian Americans, people from other parts of the world are also keenly watching Rajinikanth’s films with great interest.
Dr Rajan stated that he was deeply moved by the humility of Superstar; he is not only a great artist but a marvellous human being. America is waiting do top honours for such a man and indeed it a is matter of respect for the Maryland state and himself to invite him, said Dr Rajan.
