Mumbai, Jan 24 (): The first theatrical trailer of forthcoming Ajay Devgn’s film Himmatwala was launched on Thursday. The trailer begins with a long and heavy dialogue between Ajay Devgn and Mahesh Manjrekar, which clearly depicts Ajay Devgn as typical hero of 80s and the story of Himmatwala revolves around 1980s.
Himmatwala, directed by Sajid Khan, is an action-romance film that stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles. Sonakshi Sinha plays a cameo in the film. Mahesh Manjrekar and Paresh Rawal play pivotal roles in the film.
The trailer showcases the movie as a typical action-packed drama. It is an official remake of the 1983 blockbuster of the same name which itself was a remake of a Telugu film Ooriki Monagadu of 1981.
‘Himmatwala’ is Sajid Khan’s fourth film and at the grand launch of the movie’s first theatrical trailer at Gaiety Galaxy in Bandra, Mumbai on January 24, the director introduced the cast and producers to the reporters.
Lead actors Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah, UTV head Siddharth Roy Kapoor and producer Ronnie Screwala graced the event.
Before launching the trailer, Sajid Khan said that 2013 new version of ‘Himmatwala’ has a lot of difference from the original version that starred Jeetendra and Sridevi and released in 1983.
The filmmaker said he has bought the rights of the film, but said Ajay’s ‘Himmatwala’ has no resemblance to the old version, excepting the fact that the movie is based on 1983 version.
The movie has 80′s dance number and Ajay was quite comfortable with the steps. He has done his own dancing style and has done his best. The trailer shows Ajay Devgn and Tammannah dancing to the tunes of Ta Thaiyya. The song is choreographed by Farah Khan.
Overall, in ‘Himmatwala’, Ajay Devgn will be seen as romance wala, fun wala and action wala.
‘Himmatwala’ is all set to hit the theaters on March 29th, 2013.
