Johannesburg, Jan 25(ANI): Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott believes South Africa’s world class pace attack will be the vital difference between the sides when the Proteas host Pakistan shortly in a three-match Test series.
Boycott said Pakistan’s hopes of winning anything against the Proteas depends on how their batsmen play South Africa’s world-class fast bowlers, Sport24 reports.
Boycott added the South African batsmen are good as there is experienced Jacques Kallis, Hashim Amla and Graeme Smith, alongside AB de Villiers, who is a fabulous player as well, but it is not that that would worry me if he was a part of the Pakistan team.
The controversial pundit said the question that arises is whether Pakistan’s batsmen bat properly against the best seam attack in the world or not, adding the Proteas fast bowlers are definitely going to come at them really strong.
Boycott said Morne Morkel is bowling well, Dale Steyn is the best in the world, and Vernon Philander, who is injured at the moment picks up wickets every time he bowls.
Boycott said Pakistan need to get runs on board during the Test series, as that would be the key.
Boycott also branded South Africa’s bowling as the best in the world by far, and added he would put his money on the Proteas. (ANI)
