Police continue hunt of rapist accused of raping a 7-year-old girl in school toilet

Panaji, Jan 17 ():Unable to find the identity of the accused even after forty-eight hours of an  incident of rape taking place in a school  at Vasco in Goa on January 14, police begun a state-wide hunt for the accused who raped a  seven-year old girl in the toilet of the school.

Parents of the child however claimed that school staffs in a bid to destroy the evidence has washed the girl’s clothes, gave her bath and cleaned the toilet after the sexual assault took place. The teachers even washed the girl’s blood-stained clothes, said the devastated parents to the police.

Asserting that before informing the police, the school has indulged in destroying the evidence, said the girl’s father who added that he received a call from the school saying that his daughter was not well hours after the crime took place. Parents suspect the school management to have a hand on the crime as they are trying to hide the incident.

The parents claimed that as soon as the incident took place, the school should have either informed the police or a doctor but instead delayed the process discussing among them. It is clear negligence on the part of the school who tried to destroy the evidence. After the incident took place local people agitated in Vasco city protesting the incident.

A fifteen member special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to trace the accused and a reward of Rs 50, 000 is also announced for the person who can possibly give information about the accused, said the Goa police. Police have also recorded the girl’s statement.

The police however had released two different sketches of the accused.
