Noida, Jan 7 (): Following a gang-rape and murder of a twenty-two year old-young woman in Noida on the outskirts of Delhi, four policemen were suspended and an officer was shunted out for showing negligence in their duty by not registering the case even after the mother of the victim lodged a complaint on the day when her daughter went missing.
The victim, working in a factory for a 12-hour job in Sector 63 left her home in the morning at 8:30 am on Friday. The family members conducted a search and reached the police station to file a complaint after the girl did not reach home till 10:00 pm in the night. The officer on duty misbehaved with the family saying that she being a young woman might have eloped with her boyfriend.
On Saturday morning the family got a call that their daughter was lying dead,half-naked alongside a road at Pushta area in Sector 63. The body of the victim bore injury marks that made the family to suspect that the victim had been raped before being killed. The victim’s mother claimed that she suspected Udaivir Singh Yadav, a resident of Bahlolpur to be the prime accused who would have raped and killed her daughter as he had been torturing the girl for a long time.
Previously,Yadav had forced himself into the house to misbehave with her daughter and was warned by the neighbours, said the mother of the victim. The mother said that they had already lodged a complaint against Yadav but the police did not pay heed to their complaint. The day after the victim went missing, angry neighbours took to the streets shouting slogans against the police.
Meanwhile, condemning the incident Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav assured to bring all the culprits to book soon and also announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh and a job to the victim’s family.
