10.15 am – 12. 45 pm – Exam duration (2.5 hours)
This is expected to help slow learners and the students from rural background.
With all the confusions about samacheer kalvi, the system is evolving slowly to give better education to the students.
The anxious parents have started to plan for applying leave to help their children at this decisive stage. Many students in urban areas are put in continuous tuitions from early mornings to late nights with no room for rest and entertainment.
The schools which have a habit of training the students for tenth standard from the ninth standard itself are following the same practice. Now many schools have hurriedly completed the full portions by December 2012 for half-yearly examinations which they believe that they can understand in which subject each student is weak.
Many schools have announced that unless they get marks 400 and above they could not get admission in the same higher secondary class. This has put more worries in the minds of young students. They fear they will lose their friends and neighbourhood.
This is the time to think about accommodating all the students passed in tenth exam in the same school where they study for continuing in Higher Secondary class without issuing a transfer certificate. Let them enjoy their teen age at this time. Let them get the group allotted in plus two based on their performance in tenth exam.
