Mumbai, Dec 19 (): Salman Khan’s much-awaited movie of this year Dabangg 2 is scheduled to open on screens worldwide on December 21, 2012 Friday for Christmas and New Year holidays.
Dabangg 2 will be shown in more than 3,000 screens in India and nearly 450 screens in the overseas market. As the movie is witnessing a huge volume of release, Dabangg 2 is predicted by the trade analysts to surely break the previous Bollywood records.
Salman Khan’s last release for Eid, Ek Tha Tiger collected 32 cr nett on its opening day, which is the highest opening day collection. The movie has also broken some old records and have registered few new records.
ETT is the fastest movie to cross 100 crore mark (in five days) and highest grosser of 2012 and in the all-time history in Indian cinema, ETT is the second highest grosser.
Dabangg 2 is releasing on non-holiday Friday, but the movie will enjoy the Christmas holiday which falls on Tuesday (fifth day of release) and in between the seven days of its first week.
Trade analysts predict that it will be difficult for Dabangg 2 to break the first day collection, first weekend collection and first week collection records of Ek Tha Tiger, instead they say Dabangg 2 will cross Rs 100 crore mark by the end of the first week.
Dabangg 2 has no other competition from any other big banner movies for nearly three weeks from its release. So, experts predict the movie will cross the 200 crore mark.
One other prediction says Dabangg 2 will very easily cross 100 crore mark in just 10 days and the life time collection would be around Rs. 300 crores.
