Box office collection : Khiladi 786 collects 9.75 crore on first (opening) day

Mumbai, Dec 8 (): Khiladi 786, which marks Akshay Kumar’s comeback to Khiladi series as well as his action, is one of the most-anticipated movies of the year 2012. The movie hit the screens on Dec 7 and has made a decent collection of 9.75 crores at the India Box Office as reported in boxoffice capsule.

Khiladi 786 is released in more than 2700 screens all over the world. But, the movie is banned in Pakistan by the censor board because it was said the movie will hurt Muslim sentiments and use of the number 786 in the title of the movie is said to be one reason.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has already given three big hit movies like Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore and OMG! Oh My God in this year 2012 and now, his latest release Khiladi 786 also looks to give a bang at the box office.

Khiladi 786, which is directed by Ashish R Mohan, has opened at the Indian Box Office on the first day with an average response. The Akshay and Asin starrer has registered 75% to 90% occupancy in single screens and 70% to 85% occupancy in multiplexes.

The film fared badly by negative reviews in metros and multiplexes occupancy were horrible, to say the least in most of the centres.

Khiladi 786 showed a poor response in the morning in multiplexes all over and due to negative reviews, the film failed to show good revenue. As the film received poor word of mouth in metros, not much of improvement should be expected on that front.

But, the film took a good start in Lucknow, Meerut, Nagpur, Indore and other small centres  Almost all the shows in these centres were houseful and the film is likely to do better with similar numbers in the next few days at these places. But it is tough to get very good numbers without healthy collections from multiplexes.
