Andhakasura (Ravi Shankar) is a Raksha who exists in an invisible form. He is the only survivor of asuras in the battle between Suras and Asuras. During Panchagraha Kootami, Andhakasura would take the shape and gets the power of ‘Panchabhoothalu’. Then, Andhakasura will become powerful.

To become the emperor of the entire Universe, Andhakasura should marry a girl Maheswari (Anushka) born at that moment. Only Lord Shiva can eliminate him. When Andhakasura is in that pursuit, enters our hero Mallikarjuna (Nagarjuna) who is in love with Maheswari. How he fights the evil and how he triumphs forms the rest of the story.

Nagarjuna‘s performance is mesmerizing, He has moulded his role very well with good dialogues and fight sequences. His six-pack gives him a perfect look in the movie.

Anushka looks stunning and gorgeous in the songs -Nesthama Nesthama and Kanyakumari, but there isn’t much for her to do in the film, in terms of acting.

Prakash Raj has again proved that he can do any role and has performed well in the role of Lord Shiva.

Ravi Shankar has played the role of Andhakasura; his body language, acting, diction everything are just perfect. He personifies evil on-screen perfectly and in most scenes he almost outclasses Nagarjuna.

Brahmanandham, Raghu Babu, MS Narayana have provided the audience healthy comedy.

Devi Sri Prasad’s music is a major asset to the movie. All the songs are chart-busters and equally good when seen on-screen. No doubt DSP had made his 50th movie monumental.

Chota K Naidu with his cinematography had done his best for the film.

Director Srinivasa Reddy has executed the story with his perfect script. He has taken special care in each and every character making the film a success. Much care has gone into the graphics department and the end result is truly superb.

Graphics is superb and is the highlight of the movie. Last 30 minutes is heart of the film with wonderful graphics.

Overall, Damarukam is a good treat to movie lovers of all ages.
