Washington, Nov. 22 (ANI): While giving his speech before engaging in the annual tradition of a president pardoning a turkey before Thanksgiving, President Barack Obama cracked a joke about Nate Silver, the New York Times polling expert who accurately predicted the Election Day results.
“For the first time in our history, the winners of the White House turkey pardon were chosen through a highly competitive online vote. And once again, Nate Silver completely nailed it,” Obama said.
“The guy’s amazing. He predicted these guys would win,” Politico quoted Obama, as saying.
“I want to thank everyone who participated in this election,” he added.
“Because of your votes, the only cobbler anyone’s eating this Thanksgiving will come with a side of ice cream,” he said.
According to the report, of the two turkeys, Cobbler and Gobbler, Cobbler gained the official pardon. (ANI)
