Box office collection : Son of Sardaar (SOS) collects 69 cr in its first weekend

Mumbai, Nov 19 (TruthDive): “Son Of Sardaar” has done a decent business in its six-day long first weekend raking in 69 crores at the domestic box office.

As per reports given in boxoffice capsule, the movie SOS collected 10.50 cr on its opening day, 16 cr on Wednesday, 12 cr on Thursday, 10 cr on Friday, 9 cr on Saturday and from the early reports the site says the movie collected 12 cr on Sunday.

Thus, the domestic box office collection rounds up to 69.50 crores and by adding the overseas collection of 3.50 crores, the total worldwide collections of Son Of Sardaar reaches a decent collection of 73 crores.

Ajay Devgn’s “Son Of Sardaar” was released on Nov 13, on Diwali day alongside Yash Chopra directed “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”.

SOS is written and directed by Ashwni Dhir. When he was asked about the response to his film, the director said the movie has done a very decent business collecting 69.50 crores in its opening weekend and the response of the audience has made him extremely happy and the decent box office collections have overwhelmed him.

Son of Sardaar has done most of its collections at the mass belts, rather than in multiplexes. During the Diwali holidays, the movie did a good business and on Thursday and Friday, the business went a bit down as they were working days. The theatres in Maharashtra were on Sunday shut, following the demise of leader Bal Thackeray, which also hindered the collections on Sunday.

The film showed an exceedingly good business in Rajasthan, East Punjab and Central India and in other areas the movie did an average business or below par. The overseas collection for the film remained poor as the good name was received by Yash Chopra’s Jab tak Hai Jaan.
