Mumbai, Nov 18 (TruthDive): Bollywood celebrities lined up to see Shiv Sena leader, Bal Thackeray lay in critical condition when he breathed his last on Saturday. Bal Thackeray was always with and for the Bollywood celebrities, when they needed his help. He shared an appealing relationship with most of them.
On Wednesday, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan visited Thackeray. He recalled how motivational and inspiring Thackeray was when Amitabh was recovering after his accident on sets of Coolie film in 1983 in hospital.
Recently, Amitabh wrote on Twitter page when he was flown from Bangalore to Mumbai in critical stage during the Coolie accident, it was his ambulance that took him to the Breach Candy Hospital.
At the hospital, Bal Thackeray visited him with a cartoon, which he himself had drawn with words written – Yamraj defeated! Yamraj – God of Death, defeated by Amitabh and also Big B said Thackeray considered Jaya Bachchan as his ‘bahu’. Thackeray supported Amitabh, when Big B’s name was drawn in Bofors scandal.
Thackeray, cartoonist-turned-politician, has also helped Sanjay Dutt, Reena Roy and Salman Khan.
And Thackeray was “father figure”, for legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. The singer’s family knew him for the past four decades. Mangeshkar says, “Maharashtra is orphaned today.”
The death news of Thackeray is not yet revealed to veteran actor Dilip Kumar, a very close friend of Thackeray, as he is not well past two days, said Dilip’s wife Saira Banu.
Even though Thackeray and Shah Rukh Khan were not in good terms, both never harboured ill will at any time. Recently, Shah Rukh visited him and admitted that he shared a “personal relationship” with the Thackeray family.
“Out of huge amount of regard, plus not only for his age and status, I have spent some good time with him. My mother once told me that you can fight in good times, but when bad time comes, you must pray and spread love,” SRK said at a recent event.
And the other Bollywood celebrities who streamed into his house for the past few days, when he was not well were Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, Manoj Kumar as well as Kapoor brothers – Rajeev, Randhir and Rishi and Hrithik Roshan.
The love and respect for Thackeray continues within the hearts of many Bollywood celebrities.
