Mumbai, Nov 9 (): India’s first science-fiction film “Mr. India” is all ready to comeback as “Mr. India 2”.
Producer Boney Kapoor has been trying for a long time to do a sequel to the 1987 hit movie and had approached director Anurag Basu to do the film. Reports now say, Boney Kapoor starting his mega ambitious project Mr. India 2, has roped in Shekhar Kapur , the original director of 1987 hit Mr. India and has also decided to put in the film’s charming jodi Anil Kapoor – Sridevi, along with Salman Khan.
Salman is playing an important role in this project. Boney said, “I do not think I can do a film without Salman. Definitely, Salman is a part of Mr India 2 and in the sequel to No Entry too.”
At first, when Boney Kapoor consulted with Shekhar Kapur about the project, due to other commitments, he said he would offer his help as creative consultant. Later, Boney has convinced Shekhar to don the director’s hat.
Fresh inputs about Mr. India 2, say Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will appear in significant roles in the movie though not in the lead roles, this time around.
In addition, Salman will be doing a negative role in Mr. India 2 for the first time. In the first part, Amrish Puri played the evil Mogambo. So, one can also expect Salman to portray a character of similar figure in the second part.
At present, Boney is busy giving a good final shape to Mr. India, by converting the original version into 3D. The 3D version of Mr. India will be released few weeks earlier before Mr. India 2 release.
Reports say, Mr. India 2 will hit the screens in 2014, but the makers are still not sure when the film will actually go on the floors.
