New Delhi, Sep 15 (): The luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is introducing its new Mercedes-Benz B Class compact sports tourer in India on September 18.
At the start of this year, Mercedes-Benz India dragged down its curtains of its soon-to-be launched car B-Class compact sports tourer at Greater Noida’s Buddh International Circuit, in July 2012. The company also took another opportunity to unveil its forthcoming car at Mumbai’s Hard Rock Café.
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class 2012 which is termed as compact sports tourer is expected to reach the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) initially. The company has plans of beginning its local assembling of B-Class from 2013.
Mercedes Benz has competition with the two German companies, Audi and BMW, in luxury division in India. Reports said the new Mercedes Benz B Class car will be priced in the range of Rs.25 lakh.
The first images of the car look like a big hatchback car boasting of decent ground clearance and spacious cabin space. Initially, the Mercedes-Benz India may be launching the petrol variant car, while the diesel variant of B-class may be announced in Indian market in a few months.

The company would be soon launching Mercedes-Benz A-class series in Indian market to register its footprints in premium category. B-class Mercedes Benz is priced at about Rs 25 lakh, while the Mercedes Benz A-class, would be priced at about Rs 20 lakh. The A-class category would be introduced by the 3rd quarter of the year 2013.
Manas Dewan, strategic planning, corporate communications and general manager, Mercedes-Benz India, said the company is concentrating on premium segment, with new launches in Indian market.
With the upcoming launch of the B-Class vehicle on September 18, Mercedes-Benz has tremendous hopes for increasing its sales in the country.
