Chennai, Sep 5 (TruthDive): The trailer of Settai, the Tamil remake of Bollywood adult comedy, Delhi Belly was released online on September 1, Saturday. Immediately, after its release the trailer started receiving tremendous response. Till now, the trailer has got 455,686 views on YouTube.
Recently, Neethaane En Ponvasantham directed by Gautham Menon got massive response fetching 5.5 lakh views, record-breaking hits on YouTube. It broke the previous record of Ajith Kumar’s Billa 2 teaser, which fetched about 5.15 lakh views in two days.
Settai is directed by R. Kannan, who had given hit films Kanden Kadhala and Jayam Kondaan. The male lead roles are done by stars Arya, Santhanam and Premgi Amaren. In the original version, Delhi Belly the lead roles were done by Imran Khan, Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das. The original version was liked by the youngsters for its picturisation and bold dialogues.
Hansika Motwani and Anjali play the lead lady roles, while Nasser plays a role with a negative shade. Ali, Telugu comedian has joined the cast, making his debut in Tamil film. Suja Varunee appears in a cameo role which was originally played by Anusha Dandekar in Delhi Belly.
The makers of “Settai” say unlike the Delhi Belly, which got an adult rating from critics, the remake focuses on family audience. The main plot is retained in the Tamil version, but naughty jokes are edited out and also dialogues are changed.
The film’s producer, Dhananjayan Govind of UTV Motion Pictures said comedy always does well in the south and they are confident of ‘Settai’ too. Dhananjayan added that Kannan would be credited for his efforts done in additional screenplay and adaption and John Mahendran, the writer, wrote the new dialogues.
While, Settai is produced by UTV Motion Pictures, music is scored by S.S. Thaman. The movie is scheduled to release in December this year.
