Mumbai, Aug 14 (): Jism 2 starring Sunny Leone was released on August 3. It had a decent first weekend opening and has steadily slipped down at box office, which saw a 70 per cent down in its collections by the end of its second weekend.
The erotic thriller, Jism 2 has concluded the first week with a decent collection of Rs 29.91 crores nett. But, the collection of the movie dipped by more than 60% last Monday and it continued to collapse throughout the week. The gradual dip in the collection from last Monday is as follows:
Rs 2.97 cr on Mon
Rs 2.31 cr on Tue
Rs 1.81 cr on Wed
Rs 1.30 cr on Thu
Gangs of Wasseypur 2, directed by Anurag Kashyap was released on August 8. It received a positive response and has collected a whopping Rs. 3 crores on the opening day. The film stars Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi in lead roles.
Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 collected Rs. 15.40 crore in its run from Tuesday night (starting with paid previews) to Sunday evening.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#GOW2 Tue previews 34 lacs, Wed 2.75 cr, Thu 2.30 cr, Fri 3.20 cr, Sat [est] 3.25 cr. Total: 11.84 cr nett.”
Anyhow, the makers of Gangs of Wasseypur 2 are not much satisfied with its collection as, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 1′ which was released on June 22, 2012 earned Rs 28 crore and the makers were pretty happy with the collection.
After the release of Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ on August 15, Independence Day, which is a typical masala entertainer, the box office collection of ‘GoW 2’ and Jism 2 is likely to drop.
The advance booking for the Ek Tha Tiger is already going in a fast pace and has collected 18 crores for the opening day and by the release of Salman’s film all other films will be limited to 1 or 2 shows, which would definitely drop the collection of Jism 2 and GoW 2.
