New Delhi, Aug 10 (): The main slot time, Sunday morning is captured by Ramayan, new epic TV series after the end of Aamir’s popular Satyamev Jayate series. At the same time of the SMJ show, Doordarshan is launching Ramayan from August 12 every Sunday morning.
The one-hour show, Ramayan, will be shown on DD-National at 11 a.m. The TV series is directed by Moti Sagar, the epic will be broadcasted with Zee TV.
The statement from Doordarshan said that to maintain the high viewership on Sunday morning slot, Doordarshan will premiere the country’s most admired mythological series ‘Ramayan’. The series will be telecasted in DD National (DD-1) and Zee TV.
The DD statement said the timeless classic based on ‘Tulsidas’ will be able to provide wholesome entertainment and message to the entire family, right from grandparents to children, in a joint TV viewing experience.
Doordarshan is also remembers its glory days in the late 1980s when a possible audience of 100 million viewers across the country tuned in to 78 episodes of Ramanand Sagar’s original Ramayan every week.

In the latest avatar of the epic, TV actor Rishabh Shukla cast as King Dashrath, Neil Bhatt will play Lakshman with Shikha Swaroop portraying Kaikeyi.
To create interest to the younger generation, ‘Ramayan’ will also have interactive apps on social networking websites, the statement said. The jet-setting, smartphone-toting denizens of the Twitter age can benefit immensely from applying its learnings to their lives, it added.
