Mumbai, Aug 3 (TruthDive): Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif’s singing aspirations is getting bigger by singing a song in music maestro A.R. Rahman’s composition for Yash Chopra’s untitled directorial movie.
Initially, Katrina Kaif was all set to give her voice to Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3. Now, she has put her original plan on hold, and will be instead singing in a romantic number penned by Gulzar and composed by A R Rahman for Yash Chopra’s directorial comeback.
It looks to be an ideal project for Katrina to make her musical debut in Bollywood as she is working with the Oscar-winning duo of Rahman and Gulzar.
While this romantic number marks Katrina’s debut as a playback singer in Bollywood, this is not the first time the actress will hit the recording studio. She had earlier lent her voice for nursery rhymes that Rahman composed for a charity album.
Sources say Katrina had enjoyed singing for Rahman in the charity album. The music composer too was impressed by her passion for singing. Now, she has again got the opportunity of singing to AR Rahman’s music.
Information from a friend of Katrina said earlier, Kat had a persistent offer from Ali Zafar to sing with him for his private album. He was interested to rope her in but she begged off. Then, she got the chance to sing in Dhoom 3, which she liked. But now, the glory of singing a romantic song for a Yash Chopra film, written by Gulzar and composed by A R Rahman has caught her.
The Yash Chopra’s untitled directorial comeback movie also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma along with Katrina Kaif. Kat has teamed up with SRK for the first time. The film also marks Yash Chopra’s comeback to direction after a long time.
