Hollywood – Leonardo Di Caprio tops among highest paid actors

Los Angeles, Dec 20 (TruthDive): Leonardo DiCaprio has landed the top spot on Forbes’ annual list of Hollywood’s highest-paid leading men. Starting right from the scratch, these Hollywood actors have gone out of their comfortable zones and done challenging roles which has made them the most demanding actors today.

1. Leonardo Di Caprio- $77 million

Leonardo Di Caprio, who became popular throughout the world by starring in Titanic (1997) is the topmost paid actor in Hollywood, salary $77 million per movie.

In 2000, he starred in Danny Boyle’s The Beach. Two years later, he paired with Martin Scorsese for the first time with Gangs of New York. That same year Steven Spielberg directed the young actor in Catch Me If You Can.

The cause of DiCaprio’s incredible breakthrough was Inception and Shutter Island movies which earned $1.1 billion together.

DiCaprio is most likely going to remain one of the highest paid actors with upcoming projects like “J. Edgar,” “The Great Gatsby” and “Django Unchained.”

2. Johnny Depp – $50 million

Johnny Depp, the American actor/musician who received his biggest break in 2003′s Pirates of the Caribbean as Jack Sparrow.

Receiver of Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild for Best Actor, Johnny Depp was also rated as the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ twice by the People magazine. He stands second in the list of highest paid actors with an estimate of $50 billion.

The four Pirates movie has so far earned $ 3.7 billion at the global box office.

3. Adam Sandler – $40 million

Adam Sandler, his recent film, Grown Ups, was his highest-grosser of all times with $271 million. He runs a television and production company of his own.

4. Will Smith – $36 million

Will Smith, who became popular by his action in Men In Black series, stands 4th with a salary of $36 million. He was also applauded for his brilliant role in Pursuit of Happiness which got his son, Jaden Smith into the acting world.

He produced The Karate Kid which starred Jaden and is developing a remake of Annie for his daughter Willow. Smith will next star in Men in Black III slated for a May 2012 release.

5. Tom Hanks – $35 million

The actor Tom Hanks revealed himself as a talented writer, director and actor of course, in Larry Crown movie.

Hanks’ latest film, Larry Crowne, was a bonafide flop earning less that $100 million. But the actor still pulls in plenty of money from voicing Woody in Toy Story. The third film was the highest-grossing animated movie of all times. Hanks will next star opposite Sandra Bullock in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
