They also asked CBI to give a status report on the case pending in the special court of the investigating agency.
The Delhi High Court rejected the bail application of Kanimozhi after CBI told the court that if she is out on bail then she would use her influence to destroy evidence and muzzle the witness. The bail was sought by Kanimozhi’s lawyer Ram Jethmalani on the ground that she was mother and a lady. Coloumnist Shoba De tweeted “Did Kanimozhi forget she was a mother when she was cutting all those multi-million dollar deals? Dont insult women and mothers. Just own up! “. DMK Chief and father of Kanimozhi M Karunanidhi said that it was he who had asked her to be on the board to get her an exposure and now she was paying the price. He visited the Tihar Jail to see her and described the place as too hot that a flower would wither away.
Though the DMK at first blamed the Congress for being complacent in the Kanimozhi bail case later shifted the onus on to CBI for wrongly implicating her in the scam.
