Washington, Apr 27 (): US President Barack Obama on Tuesday reacting to Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner’s willingness to eliminate tax subsidies for oil and gas industry, asked Congressional leadership to take immediate action to eliminate unwarranted tax breaks for the oil and gas industry. He wanted to use those dollars to invest in clean energy and reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil.
High oil and gasoline prices are weighing on the minds and pocketbooks of every American family, Obama said, adding that while the economy has begun to recover, with 1.8 million private sector jobs created over the last 13 months, too many Americans are still struggling to find a job or simply just to pay the bills .
Meanwhile the oil rich Abhu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and UAE Military Commander called on US President. US President Barack Obama met Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan. The two leaders had a productive and wide-ranging discussion which focused on their common strategic interests in the region, the White House said.
National Security Advisor Tom Donilon’s on April 13 had consultations with the Crown Prince in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Muhammad held talks in Abu Dhabi with the head of the US Central Command, Gen. James Mattis. Central Command is in charge of US military activity, the Middle East and North Africa as well as central Asia. Before meeting Obama the Crown Prince called on King Abdullah in Riyadh. The talks with Obama was over the interference of Iran in matters of the Gulf countries.
