New Delhi,Dec 29 (): The flight operations in IGI airport in Delhi has returned to normal but normal life for commuters will be thrown out of gear as the agitating Gujjars block traffic. Gujjar protest will on Wednesday be seen in Delhi on the tenth day of their agitation, demanding five per cent quota in the OBC category in Government jobs and educational institutions.
Rail routes between Delhi-Jaipur and Delhi-Mumbai, road blockades between Jaipur and Agra among other places in Rajasthan have thousands of people in the ten days. But the Ashok Gehlot government which has been blamed for mishandling the quota protests has now blamed the BJP for instigating the Gujjars. Gehlot claims that the plotting took place at the wedding of Nitin Gadkari’s son.
The BJP ministry led by Vasundhara Raje witnessed the most violent clashes during the Gujjar protests in 2008 which killed over 70 people. All India Yuva Gujjar Mahasabha president Veerendra Vidhudi, and Gulab Kothari of Patrika group met Bainsla and other agitators at Pilukapura in Bharatpur on Tuesday.Bainsala said a mahasabha will meet at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi where further course of action will be decided. Gujjar leader Colonel Bainsla assured that the protest will remain peaceful.
Factions of agitators are also threatening to call an NCR bandh in support of their demand for 5 percent reservation in Rajasthan. The state government has agreed for a four percent reservation till the next Court judgment comes. The BJP has termed Gehlot allegations as baseless and not worth commenting about.
