Clinton, Obama’s pre and post election views on Sri Lanka

All the three countries – India, Sri Lanka and Tamil Eelam (Yes I prefer to call it three nations, because I respect the aspirations of the people more than decorated paper or forced neglect) have paid a heavy price in this three decade unworthy war – all because of lack of respect and hatred towards the “other” as Mr Obama mentioned in his interview with Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

Let me start with my wishes to Hillary Clinton for a speedy recovery from the surgery to repair her fractured right elbow. Enduring pain – be it small or big, is an ordeal we would rather want to avoid. Having witnessed the large scale human suffering in the final assault by the Sri Lankan army on its citizens in the name of securing its sovereignty, my feelings have not gone numb. We know that several of the injured in the so called “Safe Zone” (??) were left to die and perish due to lack of medical attention (rather should I say “denial of medical attention”).

The irony is that numerous civilians (up to an unimaginable number of 300,000) still live in Nazi style concentration camps behind barbed wires. I am yet to get into grips with the fact that my “civilized” world is allowing this ridiculous scheme – all in the name of  preserving the “Soverignity of a Nation”. I think Hitler would be excited to be alive today – with all the options available to justify his schemes to execute Jews -just by rephrasing them as “War on Terror”. I am pretty sure you would never say “Never Again” and risk being called a terrorist.

Recently the US administration raised its voice against the coup in Honduras and Mr. President Barack Obama released the following statement:

“It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition rather than democratic elections”.

Similarly USA has extended its full support for the peaceful demonstration of Iranian opposition party and expressed displeasure to Iranian government for its excessive use of force to curb the demonstrations. Mr. Obama has warned Iran to stop all “violence and unjust action against its own people”, after a day of protests over last week’s vote.

It is indeed unfortunate that Tamils of the island of Sri Lanka did not received any such gesture from Hillary or Obama against oppressive Lankan government for its use of banned weapons and denial of basic rights. I am puzzled at Hillary’s silence after the comments she made on Tamil Tigers during her primary in the Democratic Party elections last year.

I am certain that Hillary must have made her statement after consultation of seasoned diplomats and a thorough analysis of the Tamil struggle.

American people and several freedom lovers around the world inclusive of Tamils and peace loving Sinhalese continued to like you Hillary – because of your open, honest and diligent efforts towards restoring peace, freedom and democracy for oppressed people.

Not just Tamils, any community in this face of earth have legitimacy for self governance in their homeland. Those who occupy the US administration need not be reminded about the founding principles this great nation was built upon. The following text from the US Declaration of independence decorates many office walls:

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation…

…But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..

Millions and millions of hard working people from different parts of the world migrated to USA “on their own will“ since it upholds democracy, human rights and strives to protect the rights of individuals – irrespective of their race, religion, color of their skin or the language in their tongue. By not taking the least appropriate action against the genocidal Sri Lankan government you are sending wrong signals to several rogue world powers and are indeed setting wrong precedence. Or is it that I am setting unrealistic expectations on you?

Though “Diplomacy in Action” under your leadership works to protect the interest of USA, there are times it has to act beyond self-interest and protect the helpless people from evil forces. Sri Lanka is one of the axis of evil and should be dealt firmly. USA has fulfilled its moral obligation several times in the past and enforced the Freedom and safety of innocent nations.

If Sri Lanka being a democracy gives you reasons to tolerate human rights violations, How am I supposed to convince myself of the fact that Iran, and even Saddam Hussein have claimed to have conducted elections. May be Hitler himself could have been excused for he carried all his schemes with the approval of an elected counsel. The thin line between pseudo democracies and real democracies – where the opinions of every creed of the nation is respected and honoured makes or breaks a nation. Rogue nations that hide behind misused and misrepresented terms such as “Democracy” and “Sovereignty” needs to be dealt with rightly for all of us to reaffirm our faith that we live in a period of “Civility”.

Please read my article – Lankan Pizza and power sharing of “Federalism” to get an understanding about what has been offered so far as a solution to this six decade problem – the 13th amendment to Sri Lanka constitution. It is pathetic to note that few Indian leaders continue to travel in the worthless path that they traveled in the past three decades. It shows their lack of understanding and lack of respect or concern to the aspirations of the Eelam Tamils.

I hope these two great leaders will break their silence and deal with this “disgusting” schemes of rogue nations. Myself – for being one of Obama and Hillary’s strong admirer do not want to see the Sri Lankan chapter unfold into a continuing disaster under the very nose of these great leaders.

    There are reports that men in the camps are starting to riot on the dismal situations and ill treatment. We shall continue to sweat on bourse, soaps and the next EMI.

    Hope extolled leaders to speed up thier actions on Tamil Eelam matter before, Sri Lan Gov viewing every Tamil civilian in the camps as a possible Tamil Tiger suspect and wipe out entire population of the two districts – Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu.

    Tamils should have thought twice before taking up arms against the Sri Lankan state and killing civilians in bomb attacks and massacres. They should have thought twice before assasinating Rajiv Gandhi and Sri Lankan ministers. They should have thought twice before ethnically cleansing Jaffna of Muslims and Singhalese. Thousands of Tamils are living in peace in Southern Sri Lanka amongst the Singhalese and Muslims. The world knows this, that is why they are not taking action against Sri Lanka.

    Until recently Lanka said it was LTTE who took arms not Tamils. Now you say it was Tamils who took arms.

    Firstly, let me say, clearly that personally, I always distinguish immoral Congress Led Indian Government from India as whole and refer her as ‘Mother-India’. Mr. Kandhan you have written it very well. Recalling and reminding the incumbents of US power of seats of their pre-election pronouncements and pledges. We admire, appreciate and thank you for your restlessness and energized anxiety.

    As the superpower, the US has its priorities to look at all around the world. They also set, prioritize and reschedule such priorities according their interest, merits and importance. We trust they have not changed or forgotten but are at the dead end. We can not blame them. US is far away to respond to our need. Still, it has to take a detour and bypass India. When a neighboring bloated superficial regional power is inactive and keeping quiet how could anyone expect countries away from the vicinity to respond? In a complete ‘U-Turn’ from Bush, President Obama and Secretary Madame Hilary convened many meetings and special press conferences; and authorized to take-up the matter at the UN. There were many senate hearings. All these changes in mood of the West prompted India dispatching FS Shankar Menon on an unscheduled five days pilgrimage to meet Madame Hillary Clinton soon after her nomination of office – even before her first in office. All civilized western and European Christian nations raised their voices heard. They did their best and still doing and will continue to do. There was a time the US wanted to come forward to evacuate. You know very well in international relations and diplomacy it is not that easy ignore or bypass a regional monitor.

    By contrast, hope we all remember that FS Shankar Menon and were shuttling between Colombo-Madras-Delhi to expedite the final push to complete the genocide. South Africa and Penang State Assembly in Malaysia passed a motion of condolence and observed memorial Silence. In Australia, NSW State parliament passed motions held two minutes silence. In Tamil Nadu what happened? You know it well? What did the CM of Tamil Nadu do? He didn’t want to take matter of ‘Condolences’ in the state assembly.
    Crows flock together and cry when one is dead. India’s Hindututva didn’t have minimum human decency to express a word of Sympathy. A FUNERAL is an occasion where even deadly cut-throat enemies forget their enmity and become friends. So my dear Kandhan, the problem is not with the US or the West – they are civilized Christians; it is only with and within us – the Hindus. You also know well when the west is concerned with war-crimes and appalling living conditions in IDP camps what this rascal Ram, the stinking scavenger, reported after speaking to Rajapakse. India is the stumbling block for the well being of Tamils like a Nan’dhi in Lord Sivan Temple.

    Indian FM Krishna said in the parliament that US did not support, not opposed, the Indian bidding for permanent seat in the UNSC. Many see the unspoken inference by this US action is that entrusting enormous decision making responsibilities on one who is still immature and unable to uphold and maintain peace, geopolitical stability and preserve smooth passage thru sea-lanes in and around their region what would be their usefulness in the UNSC! In India’s case, it has yet to resolve its 62 years long Kashmir problem; and unable to assert its voice and exercise regional supremacy, if it has, to bring about a peace solution to the Ceylonese problem. Even until recent times not only by aiding and abetting the genocide but also campaigning and voting against the charges of human rights violations, indiscriminate misuse of chemical weapons against civilians and war-crimes leveled at Lanka in the UN. Let’s see comparatively how well other regional powers like Japan, Australia, South Africa, Brazil and Egypt maintain stability in their areas!

    Having said so, let’s also say that we are sad to see Mother-India losing her credibility, pride, dignity and power that are characteristics to a regional super-power and prerequisites to an aspiring status of joining the club of Global Super-powers. Long ago the India had pawned India’s hopeful super-power status for their nasty shorted-sighted ego-centric midwife attitude of aborting the legitimate aspirations of Tamils of Eelam and exterminating them. Even until recent times not only by aiding and abetting the genocide but also campaigning and voting against the charges of human rights violations, indiscriminate misuse of chemical weapons against civilians and war-crimes leveled at Lanka in the UN.

    We believe Mother India may / or not stand for Eelam Tamils’ glory of separation but surely she stands for Eelam Tamils’ legitimate aspirations for self-rule with human dignity. We bear in mind that we are always under the shadow of Mother-India and should always be loyal to her, respect her current status as the Indian Ocean Super-Power. We are obliged to respect and earn her good-will. It’s up to her to maintain and uphold the hopefulness. There is always a day called ‘Another day / Tomorrow’. We can not afford to ignore or insult her because of the misdeeds of rampant vampirism of Congress Party. We can curse the Congress for it downfall – but not Mother India.

    Mightiest empire of the ancient world, Babylon, built by the Kings Hammuraibi and Nebuchadnezzar, declined and fell to a lower level under Balthazar and came to ruin without trace in 130 BC.
    God’s wrath and curse of innocents never go in vain!
    Holy Gospel: Rev. 14.8; 16.19; 17.5; 18.2:- Babylon is fallen – that great country is fallen- because she seduced the nations of the world and made them drink wine of her passionate immorality!

    I am sorry for having been so critical, and I regret If I have hurt anyone’s feelings!
